FINDING THE RIGHT sports bra is crucial. That’s because a well-fitted one will keep your girls locked in and comfortable during jogs, stretches, and squats, so you don’t have to worry about spillage or bounce.

To find the best of the best sports bras, our fitness and style editors tested more than 50 options—from high-impact sports bras designed to minimize bounce to softer options from our fave activewear brands that prioritize comfort. We evaluated each pick for support, fit, comfort, and performance across a range of workouts and body types.

Best Sports Bras

Before we get to the recs, here's exactly what you should keep in mind before shopping for a sports bra.

Pros

  • Offers comfortable, medium support
  • Great for high- and low-intensity workouts
  • Front adjustable straps

Cons

  • Padding isn't removable

This bra is a 2026 Fitness Awards winner, and basically “the holy grail of sports bras for high-intensity workouts,” Andriakos says. It’s ultra comfortable with adjustable straps for a customizable fit that works for all sorts of exercises.

The Performance Flex Bra offers medium support, but we’ve found it minimizes bounce without restricting movement, thanks to a higher neckline and light built-in padding that helps me feel secure while I train. In testing, it felt just as comfortable during slower sessions like yoga and pilates as it did during higher-intensity workout classes. The hold is supportive without feeling overly compressive, so the girls stay in place without that squeezed-in feeling some medium-support bras can have.

One of our favorite details is the padding. “It’s built in—so you never have to deal with shifting, scrunching, or fishing pads out of the laundry,” Andriakos says. That means the bra keeps its shape wash after wash and eliminates the annoyance of removable inserts. The padding also stays comfortable through body changes—Andriakos says it even supported her during pregnancy and postpartum. The only potential downside is that the padding isn’t removable, which might not appeal to those who want less coverage.

The wide adjustable straps are another favorite feature of mine. They distribute weight evenly across my shoulders without digging in or creating pressure points during longer workouts. Even better, the straps adjust from the front so it’s way easier to adjust than traditional bras.

And for my sweaty gals, the fabric is perfect for keeping perspiration under control. It’s made from a breathable, sweat-wicking blend of recycled polyester and elastane, which feels soft and flexible while maintaining shape. It keeps me cool and comfortable—even in heated classes—and the full mesh racerback panel adds tons of ventilation. That open, breathable design helps release heat during workouts. It also gives the bra a streamlined silhouette that sits smoothly under all my workout tops.

Pros

  • Offers solid support with minimal boob bounce
  • Not too tight
  • Cups are sewn in place to prevent movement
  • Basic pull on style

Cons

  • Can cause chafing during runs

This bra is a favorite among four (!) WH editors—myself, Andriakos, Wohlner, and Lauture. We love its support during high-impact workouts, durability, value, and stay-in-place cups that move like a second skin.

Andriakos says that this bra is great for medium-sized busts. It has a slight compressed feel, which keeps everything secure and minimizes bounce during plyometric moves and running, but it’s not so tight that it restricts movement. It also has a high support option, which has more compression and an adjustable band, and a low-support option, which is looser with gentle hold. We picked the medium support bra for our number one choice because it’s the most versatile option. We’ve worn it during runs, pilates, walks, yoga, and HIIT and found that it offers solid support with minimal boob bounce, but it’s not too tight that we want to rip it off after our workouts.

This bra is also moisture-wicking, so it doesn’t get super wet and sweaty during workouts, which we appreciate. The 100 percent polyester material has a super slippery feel, which we like for its ability to stay breathable, but we find that it tends to chafe under the breasts during long runs. I wore this bra a ton during my half-marathon training last year and found that it would irritate my skin after about five miles. I found the solution should be to level up to the high-impact bra for my runs, so there’s less room for movement and chafing.

Back to the pros: This bra handles the wash super well. Every time we wash and air dry it, the bra comes out looking good as new and never pills or comes unsewn. Andriakos has owned hers for two years and says it still looks the same as when she first bought it. Since then, she’s purchased multiple in different colors.

“My ideal sports bra doesn’t have any hardware or fastening, or removable pads that get lost in the dryer,” says Andriakos. This one easily pulls on over the head without any adjusting and it’s a breeze to take on and off. It has a minimal silhouette with super wide armholes, so you can rip it right off after a workout without playing around with straps or closures. Plus, Lauture and I love that the cups are sewn in place, so they don’t move around during your workout.

Forme Power+ Bra

Now 13% Off

Pros

  • Gently encourages better posture
  • Supportive
  • Great for working out

Cons

  • Difficult to take off, especially when sweaty

The first time I pulled on the Forme Power+ Bra, I instinctively rolled my shoulders forward like I usually do at my desk—except this time, they didn’t stay there. Within seconds, the bra gently guided them back, opening up my chest and lifting my upper spine so I stood noticeably taller without consciously trying. It’s a subtle shift, but one you feel immediately: less hunching, more length through your torso, and a sense that your upper body is quietly being coached into better alignment.

The Power+ is made from a compressive blend of polyester, nylon, and spandex and features multiple tension fabrics with strategically placed, double-layered support panels throughout the back and shoulders. Together, they create a gentle pull that encourages your shoulders to stay back and your chest open. The result feels supportive without restricting movement, and I love wearing it for all my workouts.

Despite its posture-focused design, the Power+ also functions as a solid sports bra. The compression keeps everything comfortably locked in during strength sessions, cardio workouts, and high-impact movement, while the breathable fabric prevents that heavy, trapped-in-sweat feeling some compressive bras create. Wide straps, generous arm openings, and a full-coverage back also help smooth things out and give the bra a flattering, secure fit.

Another unexpected perk: It’s just as helpful during everyday wear as it is in the gym. Whether you’re sitting at a laptop for hours or driving to a workout class, the bra keeps your shoulders from rounding forward and helps reduce some of that end-of-day neck and upper-back tension I know too well.

The only downside? That supportive compression makes the bra a bit snug—especially when you’re pulling it on for the first time. And after a particularly sweaty workout, taking it off can require a little extra effort, too.

Pros

  • Can be worn alone or layered under a workout top
  • Thick, supportive material
  • Flattering scoop neckline

Cons

  • Runs very snug

Another 2026 Fitness Awards winner for best longline sports bra, this is the rare piece that blurs the line between workout and casual clothes. The extended cut gives it the look and coverage of a cropped tank while still functioning like a supportive sports bra—making it an easy pick for everything from studio workouts to running errands.

The versatility is exactly why it’s become a “mainstay” in Luppino’s rotation. “It’s long enough where it’s a proper top, yet also a sports bra,” she says. “The material is thick and supportive enough, but still totally moves with you, making it functional for any workouts without compromising on style.” We also love the flattering scoop neckline, which adds a slightly elevated feel compared to more traditional sports bras.

The silhouette makes it especially easy to style. You can wear it on its own with leggings or biker shorts, or layer it under an oversized tee, zip-up hoodie, or lightweight jacket. The racerback design is both flattering and functional—it allows full range of motion during workouts and sits smoothly under tanks and tees.

Performance-wise, this bra delivers high compression with medium support, offering a sculpted feel that holds the girls in place without feeling restrictive. It’s made from a sleek blend of polyester and elastane, which has a smooth, slightly shiny finish that looks super polished. The bonded (aka seamless) construction helps it lie flat and disappear under clothing, which I love when wearing beyond the gym. Another pro? The removable cups, which give you the option to customize the level of shaping and coverage.

The only caveat is that the bra is super snug. The brand recommends sizing up if you have a fuller cup size, which I agree with based on testing.

Pros

  • Great for many different workouts
  • Stretchy
  • Easy to take off after a sweaty workout

Cons

  • Runs a bit large

If you’re a fan of Lululemon, then chances are you’ve tried this OG Energy Bra, which has been around for years. And, even after all of the brand’s launches, it remains one of our all-time favorites. Why? It’s super lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking, soft, and it’s easy to take on and off. It slides on like a dream and feels super lightweight and comfy the whole time it’s on.

“This is my go-to bra for Pilates, yoga, or barre,” says Saladino, who adds that it provides medium support. “The straps don't dig in and there is a good amount of coverage so when I go into downward dog I don't have to worry about my girls popping out.” She also likes that it’s suuuper stretchy, soft, and easy to take off after a sweaty workout. Plus, I find that I forget I’m even wearing it hours after I leave the gym because it’s not overly tight.

Wohlner owns this bra too, and she finds it runs a bit large. Personally, she likes a tighter fit with more compression since it makes her feel more supported, so we’d recommend sizing down if you feel the same. But if you prefer a looser fit, stick with your usual size.

Infinity High Impact Sports Bra
Credit: Justin Steele

Pros

  • Thick, supportive straps
  • High compressive fit contours breasts
  • Performs well during intense physical activity
  • Quick drying and moisture-wicking

Cons

  • Runs small

If you need a high-impact sports bra that can handle any type of workout, this option from Under Armour will keep you locked in. According to trainers Nellie Barnett, CPT, an online fitness and wellness coach, and Taylor Beebe, a kettlebell coach and two-time USAPL (USA Powerlifting!) National Qualifier, the Infinity 2.0 High Sports Bra is the best of the best for intense workouts—no matter your chest size.

Not only do the encapsulated cups keep everything in place, but the bra is comfortable to boot. It’s still flattering, and not overly compressive (no pancake chest here!). The Infinity 2.0 also has fully adjustable straps, both in the front and back, which makes putting it on and taking it off (even after a sweaty workout) a breeze. It has a streamlined fit that’s not too tight or too loose, making it great for staying secure and moving freely during high-impact workouts. Plus, the cups have strategically placed molded padding for an aerodynamic, lightweight feel that doesn’t skimp on support. Also impressive is the bra’s moisture-wicking band that keeps underboob sweat at bay.

This bra performed amazingly well during strength training, cardio, and explosive movements like burpees and high knees. It even kept Beebe feeling supported and secure throughout the entirety of a cardio kickboxing class (IYKYK). “No adjustments needed for the full hour,” she says. If that’s not impressive, we don’t know what is.

Just be aware that the bra does run a bit small, so if you’re unsure which to pick, definitely size up.

Pros

  • No gaping or bunching during wear
  • Adjustable straps and removable cups make it suitable for high-impact activity
  • Super soft but also has nice stretch

Cons

  • Can put pressure on the shoulders when straps are tightened

This bra provides great support—we never have to worry about the girls moving out of place during wear. While this bra is made for medium impact, the cups and adjustable straps make it versatile enough for high-impact workouts. I wore it during a HIIT workout and noticed some bounce, but it’s perfect for strength training and mobility workouts that don’t involve much jumping.

A lot of the high-impact sports bras we tested have hardware that digs in. That's why we love this one from Alo. When I’m in need of that extra support, the adjustable straps add more compression without digging into the skin. The removable cups can shift in the wash, but you can take them out and pop them back in for extra chest support. My one downside is that tightening the straps can put a lot of pressure on your shoulders.

Plus, Lauture says this bra is one of her all-time favorites because of the fit. “It’s so flattering and it looks good on—no gaping or bunching in sight.” That’s because this bra is made with Alo’s most compressive fabric, Airlift, which offers the tightest fit of all the brand’s materials, but I found that it still has plenty of stretch that moves seamlessly even while jumping and running. With a blend of 82% polyester and 18% elastane, it’s incredibly soft, yet has a nice, tight feel to keep you supported.

Spacedye Refocus Cropped Tank
Credit: Justin Steele

Pros

  • High neck adds coverage
  • Has light compression
  • UV protection
  • Hits where our high-waisted leggings hit for a seamless fit

Cons

  • Sides are not full-coverage, so we noticed some spillage

A high-neck top with a built-in light support bra, this is the perfect top when you don’t feel like layering a shirt on top of a bra but you want more coverage than a bra alone. I love that this top hits at the top of my fave high-waisted leggings because it creates a seamless look. And, if you want a matching fit, it pairs perfectly with the Spacedye At Your Leisure High Waisted Midi Legging.

I like to wear this on days when I’m doing yoga, pilates, or walking, because it provides light compression to hold the girls in place while still being comfortable enough to wear long after the gym. It’s extremely soft, as it’s made with a high polyester percentage, but the stretch comes in with the addition of elastane. I even went to brunch in this top and didn’t feel constricted at the table at all. Plus, it’s moisture-wicking to keep you dry when things start to heat up. If you’re working out outside, the shirt is treated with UV protection to protect your chest and upper waist from the sun (big ups!).

My one con: I wish that there was more coverage on the sides of the shirt to prevent the breasts from spilling out.

Best For Sweating and Odor Control

Best For Sweating and Odor Control

Rhone Revive Longline Bra

Pros

  • Odor-resistant technology
  • Gentle support and compression
  • Has built-in sun protection
  • Performs well during low to medium impact workouts

Cons

  • Runs slightly large

The Rhone Revive Longline Bra stands out for one very specific reason: It’s actually odor-resistant. The bra is made with the brand’s specialized GoldFusion anti-odor technology, a fabric treatment that uses gold-infused particles to help tamp down on odor-causing bacteria. Whether I’m heading into hot yoga or a sweaty strength class, I appreciate that the fabric doesn’t cling to post-workout funk like others do—a small but major win.

I’ve mostly worn this bra for yoga and pilates, and it keeps everything secure, even during upside-down poses like shoulder stands (no awkward shifting or spillage, thank you!). I also wore this bra on an 85-degree day in NYC after a sweaty hot yoga class and a packed subway ride home, and somehow still felt (and smelled) fresh. I’ve never had a sports bra handle sweat this well.

In terms of support, it also holds up well on short runs—but we’re not sure those with larger chests would share that experience. I mostly recommend it for low-impact workouts since the support level may not cut it for all bodies during HIIT or long runs.

I also love how easy it is to wear solo or layer under a workout tank top or T-shirt. The elastane blend is buttery soft, breathable, and moves with you. It gives just enough support without feeling overly tight or restrictive. Our only gripe? Because it’s so stretchy, you might want to size down for a snugger fit.

All in all, this bra nails comfort and performance for most workouts. Bonus points for built-in sun protection if you’re taking your workout outdoors.

Best Wool Sports Bra

Branwyn Essential Busty Bra

Essential Busty Bra

Pros

  • Naturally anti-odor and antimicrobial
  • Soft and stretchy
  • Quick drying

Cons

  • Not supportive enough for a HIIT workout

If you need an ultra sweat-wicking, odor-neutralizing sports bra, choosing one made from Merino wool is surprisingly the move. “I don’t know about you, but when I thought ‘wool,’ the first thing that came to mind was an itchy winter sweater—not exactly what I’m going for when I’m shopping for a sports bra,” says fitness and reviews editor Natascha Grief, NASM-CPT. But Branywyn’s Essential Busty Bra (and really everything we’ve tried from the brand) has been everything but itchy or uncomfortable.

Merino wool as a technical fabric has been a “revelation” for Grief, because it’s one of the few natural fibers that performs well in activewear. It comes from the coat of sheep and other animals, is naturally antimicrobial, and wicks away and absorbs sweat rather than letting it sit on the skin. If you run hot during your workouts, you can trust this bra to dry quickly and even wear it straight from the gym to brunch or errands if needed.

Grief says the bra doesn’t chafe or feel scratchy in any way, which is partially due to the fabric and partially due to the (nearly) seamless construction. The bottom band is a raw edge with no underwire, so it feels weightless and smooth, but also doesn’t ride up. It provides medium support, so it’s great for all workouts except HIIT classes. But it handles strength training, incline walks, casual jogs, and yoga or Pilates with ease.

What to Consider

What Material Is Best for a Sports Bra?

You want to make sure your sports bra is made from high-quality, breathable fabrics, such as the below.

  • Elastane: This is a lightweight, stretchy fabric that will give your bra that snappy, elastic feel.
  • Nylon: A soft, stretchy, and durable fabric that's moisture-wicking—perfect for when you want to stay dry and keep sweat stains at bay during your workout.
  • Polyester: A strong, water-resistant fabric that keeps you dry during exercise, but it's not as breathable as elastane and nylon. It’s also very soft and smooth.
  • Wool: A natural fiber that comes from the coat of sheep and other animals, wool naturally wicks away moisture, is antimicrobial and anti-odor, and dries quickly. It’s ideal for high-intensity, long workouts because of these qualities, and is great for hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities, as well.

How Supportive Should a Sports Bra Feel?

When looking for a sports bra, you should know the difference between compression and encapsulation in your bra. Compression, which can be found in the Nike or Lululemon sports bras, offers the feeling of your boobs being so supported that they’re a bit squished and pushed down. Encapsulation lifts, cradles, and separates your girls while still eliminating boob bounce. It can be found in the Beyond Yoga bra. In terms of support, there are three options to choose from when shopping:

  • Low support: This type of bra is designed for low-impact movement like walking, pilates, barre, and yoga. It doesn’t have a lot of compression or padding, so it’s not suitable for activities that require running or jumping.
  • Medium support: This level is great if you’re looking for moderate support during activities like weight training, skiing, cycling, or light jogging. It usually has wider straps, a bit more compression, and sometimes a high neckline to hold the girls in.
  • High support: If you’re into dance, running, or HIIT training, this is the bra for you, as it can have max compression, built-in pads, adjustable straps, and a back clasp to adjust tightness.

How We Chose

As Women's Health editors, we practically live in sports bras. Our editors and testers are of all different fitness levels, ages, and sizes. For this story, I spoke to style contributors Lily Wohlner, Rose Lauture, and Kristen Saladino, as well as Executive Health and Fitness Director Jacqueline Andriakos about their favorite sports bras for running, high-intensity training, low-intensity activity, and lounging. Then, we narrowed down our list and retested them at the gym. We rated them based on comfort, support, breathability, moisture-wicking abilities, and the list goes on. The options that got the highest marks are the ones that made it onto this list.
