From the gym to the office, my life basically runs on Apple products. My Apple Watch helps me hit PRs when I train for races, my iPhone is constantly reminding me of meetings and events, and my AirPods provide the soundtrack to my life. These devices make the transition between my daily activities seamless—and now, Apple just announced new updates that will continue to make everyday life easier.
On Monday, June 8, Apple hosted its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where tech industry insiders and select media got an inside look at the new features available on iOS this fall. Some of the updates you can look forward to include a brand-new Siri powered by Apple Intelligence (AI), a photo app that uses the AI for next-level photo editing, and sleek new design elements. Additionally, several of the updates were designed with women in mind—especially when it comes to monitoring your health as well as your children’s access to devices.
I had the opportunity to travel to Apple’s Headquarters in Cupertino, California for WWDC26 to take a first look at the new features. Here are the three most important ones for women.
1. Perimenopause and Menopause Tracking
Starting this fall, the Health app will offer support for perimenopause and menopause, including information about how your body will change, and updated cycle tracking. When you log your period, the app will learn the pattern of your cycle. Over time, it may pick up on irregularities and notify you if it thinks you may be entering perimenopause or have an underlying medical condition. Plus, you’ll be able to track perimenopause symptoms, such as dry skin, fatigue, hair loss, headaches, hot flashes, memory lapse, mood changes, and nausea.
But that’s not all—Apple Fitness+ also dropped a new program this week called Strong Through Menopause. The three-week program includes weekly strength workouts and yoga sessions to help women build strength, better their balance and mobility, and decrease stress in perimenopause and menopause.
2. Nutrition Insights
Curious about what’s in that salad or bowl of soup at your favorite restaurant? With the new update, you’ll be able to use your camera app to glean information about a meal with Siri AI. By taking a photo of the food, the AI will look at the ingredients and provide information about the nutrients you might get from the food—like protein and fiber—as well as how processed the food is. (This will be super helpful if you’re tracking your macros!)

3. Child Safety Features
Apple worked with the American Academy of Pediatrics to design a wealth of safety features for kids. When you buy a new device, you’ll be able to use the setup assistant to make a child account. You’ll just select their age group, and decide which apps they have access to. Then, you can add more over time as they get older. There’s also a new time allowances section, where you’ll be able to limit your child’s screen time with certain categories of apps like entertainment, games, and social media. You can select when they have access to certain types of apps during the day.
Additionally, when your child wants to talk to a new contact, visit a new website, or download a new app, they have to send a request to their parent’s device and you have to approve it. That way, you can monitor exactly who they’re talking to and what they’re looking at on their devices.
All of these features will be available to those with most Apple products starting this fall, via a free software update with iOS 27. However, you can also try out the products early by enrolling in the Apple Beta Software Program.
Personally, as soon as everything is available, I'll be updating all of my devices immediately. Watching the demos live in Cupertino made me excited to try the new features, but especially Siri AI—I can’t wait to see how much it makes navigating busy days even easier.
