Snacking often gets a bad reputation, but when done mindfully, it can play a valuable role in a balanced, healthy diet – and even support weight loss.

Personal trainer Alice Rickard has been documenting her journey online, losing 3 stone (20kg) in 12 months without tracking calories. And like most people – research suggests over 90% of us experience cravings – she still wants something sweet.

Her solution? A high-protein, 5-minute strawberry cheesecake mousse that tastes like dessert but keeps her full for hours. High-protein snacks like this can help support satiety, making it easier to stay consistent with your overall calorie intake.

‘I make this when I want something sweet without undoing my progress,’ she says.

Here, then, is the low-effort snack she relies on to stay consistent – without feeling restricted.
