Hannah Waddingham says she has no interest in trying to look artificially younger.
The Ted Lasso star, 50, says she’s chosen to take a lower-intervention approach to ageing, despite mounting pressure on women in Hollywood to smooth away every visible sign of getting older.
‘I’m not one for the Band-Aid of something appearing to make you smoother for a couple of months,’ she says. ‘It’s just not for me.’
The actor, 50, adds that a fear of needles has also helped shape her approach to beauty treatments.
Instead, Waddingham says she prioritises collagen-stimulating facials with aesthetician Shane Cooper every three to four weeks. The treatments are designed to encourage the skin’s natural collagen production, rather than temporarily freezing movement or altering facial structure.
Her attitude towards ageing is also reflected in the way she talks about her appearance more broadly. In the interview, Waddingham speaks openly about embracing visible signs of getting older, including the expressive lines in her face.
At a time when many women feel increasing pressure to look permanently youthful, the Ride or Die star says she’d rather focus on feeling strong and comfortable in herself.
