It's a busy week for Victoria Beckham, whose much sought-after fashion collaboration with Gap officially launches on Friday. Such an occasion deserves a definitive beauty moment, and Victoria did exactly that with her fresh hair colour transformation.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Victoria's previously warm blonde lengths appear significantly lighter and brighter, especially around the face. Rather than a golden tone that's often popular during the sunnier times of the year, Victoria kept her highlights a more understated, sumptuous buttercream hue. Long-time hairstylist Ken Paves was behind her signature lived-in waves.

This paler, milkier take on blonde is a major trend this season. Hershesons salon calls it a "buttered quartz". "This is a creamy neutral that’s quietly transformative," says Marley Xavier, colourist at the Belgravia outpost. "It is a neutral-to-warm blonde that avoids extremes – no icy violet cast, no overly golden base."

According to him, it "sits somewhere between oat milk and alabaster, offering reflection and softness". He recommends it to those who desire lightness and clarity, without going overboard with contrasts or toners. It's an excellent transitional hue that feels extra grown-up, as it avoids looking too beachy. Having it placed around the face also helps to bring out your natural tan.
