From sheer petal to ballet blush, pink nails are the new quiet luxury manicure: 9 hues to try for summer

Chic, polished and effortlessly wearable

By

Whatever the weather, pink nails rarely fail to flatter. But in the height of summer, there’s something unequivocally flattering about the way a fresh, radiant coat of pink polish catches the sunlight – whether it’s a delicate blushed neutral, a sheer milky rose or a retro bubblegum hue.

According to Daisy Kalnina, founder and CEO of The GelBottle Inc., the versatile shade is set to redefine the ‘quiet luxury’ manicure movement for 2026. While bold pastels and elaborate designs are taking a backseat, a new wave of ultra-glossy, minimalist ideas is emerging.

‘We’re seeing a shift towards highly dimensional pinks with depth and personality,’ observes Kalnina. ‘It’s all about finishes that play with light and give a simple manicure an instant high-fashion edge, from high-gloss jelly washes to soft, luminous pearlescents.’

Ahead, discover 9 of the most sophisticated, wearable pink hues to inspire your next nail appointment this summer.

1

Petal nails

As seen on Victoria Beckham earlier this week, the petal nail trend is taking a pared-back approach to pink manicures this season. This pairing of a dainty, floral-inspired tone with a medium-length almond shape looks equally elegant and healthy.

2

Strawberry sorbet

Dessert-themed hues and holiday-inspired finishes are a staple for summer. But they're made whimsical in a grown-up way with the addition of jelly pinks and high-shine top coats. This dreamy 'strawberry sorbet' set is eye-catching enough to attract compliments without veering into maximalism.

Pearly pink

Since the start of the year, pearly overlays have been the go-to for minimalists seeking to elevate an otherwise plain block-colour manicure. For summer, consider swapping the traditional milky white for a nude pink. The result is just as elegant on longer lengths as it is on natural shapes.

4

English rose

This high-shine, near-translucent rosy shade is aptly named. When painted over an understated rounded oval shape, this lilac-tinted dusty pink shade feels seasonally appropriate but unique, compared to its neutral counterparts.

Ballet blush

Those who are well-acquainted with 'ballet slipper' tones (creamy pale pinks with soft pink-beige undertones) should bookmark a new shade on the horizon. As proven by @shamixnails, 'ballet blush' is equal parts dainty and clean, particularly when incorporated into French tips.

6

Baby blooms

A slew of subtle, restrained ideas for nail art is emerging on social media. Take these minuscule daisy blooms for proof that floral motifs can be made wearable, while offering the opportunity to combine a range of pink hues at once.

7

Bubblegum glaze

If 'bubblegum' pinks once evoked Barbie-esque hues, contemporary variations are infinitely chicer and much more versatile. This summery idea has a retro feel that's made modern with a glazed chrome top coat and a stylish square nail shape.

8

Rose water

A veil of glass-like rosy colour blends beautifully with a muted nude. Natural, barely-there tones such as this are a particularly efficient choice as they seamlessly conceal any regrowth over time.

Milky rosé

Soap nails have firmly been dethroned by romantic washes of 'milky rosé' this season. Embodying the minimalist movement by blending quietly luxurious shades with watercolour-inspired finishes, this is truly the trend to bookmark.
